The spanish company Arriaga started its work more than 100 years ago, mainly in the field of marble manufacturing and natural stone sales. Nearly a quarter of a century ago Ramon Arriaga, together with a group of sculptors and artists, is developing a new line of marble art. Shortly afterwards, fireplaces have begun to be created thanks to their timeless classic design, carefully processed details and material, not only popular in Spain but also in many other countries. Also, besides the fireplaces, they also start to produce bathroom accessories.
With the foundation of the Arriaga Stone group, the production of a modern exclusive collection of fireplaces begins. Design has developed award-winning designer Josep Guiu from Barcelona. The new collection is not based solely on the design and innovation of the concept, but also on the selection of material and its processing. For the new fireplaces, 6 types of marble were chosen that were treated without traditional polishing. Marble treated oil provides a completely new look of stone. New-design fireplaces are simple designs, simple geometric lines, and are built into the wall.
Designer Josep Guiu from Barcelona, graduated from the prestigious design school – Elisava, is currently the creative director of the Guiu Design studio. He was awarded with the Red Dot Product Design 2009 prize, Corien Design in 2006 and the Signes Design in 2005. His professional career began at the I + D office in Danone for Southern Europe. He also worked for design studios Benedito Design and Daifuku Design, developing a design of renowned brands including Roca, Fermax, Indra, Indo, Carpyen and Comic. Guiu Design’s work is impressive because it offers practical design that is versatile and functional while retaining the beauty of the product that gives a personal seal to any design work.
Arriaga creates new products each year, and invests in research and development regularly improves the technical characteristics of the product. There is also a constant search for a new design. All this together allows Arriaga to be ahead of the competition and keep the market leading position.
