Pre-conditions for installing fireplace

Three main pre-conditions

Chimney

Predict a sufficient diameter of the chimney – for opened fireplaces diameter Ø 250 -300 mm (see table), and for a closed fireplace diameterØ 200 – 250 mm. The opening or connection to the fireplace should be placed a minimum of 180 cm, depending on the type of combustion chamber and the type of fireplaces, from the finished floor at an angle of 45°. Most inserts have opening diameter of Ø 250 mm, and that does not mean that you will not be able to install insert to the chimney diameter of Ø 200, , because in this case making the reduction will make you insert function normally.For smaller diameters of chimneys, our experts will recommend the appropriate fireplace insert and a fireplace that can safely be installed.

Intake of fresh air

Predict air inlet min 200cm² (Ø 160 mm), preferably from the outside. For supply will be sufficient water plastic pipe or metal pipes of rectangular section and set them up as much as possible horizontally, to allow a good flow of cold air with as little resistance. Air supply is particularly important because of oxygen for combustion for heating and cooling, and natural ventilation. In this way, the air flowing into the room and used by your fireplace is always good quality and helps you to avoid irritation that creates dry air.

Solid ground

It is essential that the ground on which is placed a fireplace does not contain soft materials, eg. heat insulation ,polystyrene and others. Due to the weight of the fireplace, which is in most cases made of stone, there is a possibility that over time styrofoam discounts under the weight, and in this case the whole fireplace 'sit' for several millimeters, which will badly affect the cleavage of compounds on a wall.
